Anishinaabe teachings in Place Based Learning

Today was the final day of our Place Based FN teachings for the Winter session. Place based education is rooted in heritage, environment and the culture of a place. Barrie Forest Kindergarten takes place on traditional Anishinaabe territory. Traditionally culture through storytelling was passed on in the winter time so we invited community members and an organization to pass on their stories, songs and culture for our winter session.  Tracks, an aboriginal organization, as well as Anishinaabe community members, were able to provide culture through stories, songs and teachings for us this year. Miigwetch! We are so grateful to learn from you.
